About the position

Johnson Controls has an exciting full time position for an entry level Engineer! We are seeking an HVAC Equipment Systems Application Engineers to support the construction sales team by assisting with pre and post sales activities on building systems and equipment project opportunities. Although the role is primarily weighted with execution of our equipment business, the ratio of pre and/or post sales activities will vary based on assigned branch type, assigned Sales Engineer and customer expectations. This role is based in Raleigh, NC, but could be remote for the right candidate!

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-sales activities including system configuration validation, HVAC equipment and/or controls selection for basis of design as well as bidding, application and pricing.
• Execute post sales activities that are profitable, accurate, on-time, within the scope of the contract and in alignment with customer expectations.
• Develop and provide detailed engineering information and submittals to communicate design, configuration, operating and installation requirements to customers, consultants, Johnson Controls Service and necessary subcontractors.
• Work with assigned sales team to maintain an effective balance between customer satisfaction and project financial results.
• Take ownership of assigned projects and be aware of the moving parts occurring throughout the lifecycle.
• Engage face to face with customers, factories, and other internal departments.
• Seek out solutions and escalate issues accordingly.
• Occasionally visit job sites, rigging yards, or customer offices as part of the project management process.
• Follow company safety and integrity protocols whether in the office, at home (for remote work), or at job sites during work hours.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
• Good organizational skills and proper file management.
• Strong communication skills.
