About the position
The HVAC Field Technician at Trane Technologies serves as the primary service and maintenance contact for customers in a defined market, focusing on diverse commercial sectors such as healthcare, education, and manufacturing. This role involves commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems in commercial environments, utilizing knowledge of air conditioning theory and mechanical layouts. The position offers opportunities for growth and access to technical support and training on the latest technologies.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with team leader/project manager and customer to understand requirements for on-site installation and repairs.
- Serve as the direct customer contact, ensuring satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer locations.
- Utilize cutting-edge software and technology, along with hand-tools, to diagnose and repair HVAC units.
- Maintain flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required, including occasional overnight stays.
- Enforce safety standards and maintain accountability of company assets.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, typically with 5+ years of experience in HVAC.
- Technical School or formal training preferred.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., smartphone, iPad).
- Valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months with no major traffic violations.
- EPA Certification.
