About the position

The HVAC Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of maintenance workers to ensure the reliable and safe operation of plant machinery and production processes. This role involves supervising maintenance staff, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise employees in the maintenance department in a manufacturing environment.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Interview and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Implement and maintain Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Provide 24/7 support to staff and Engineering.
  • Partner with and coordinate outside contractors.
  • Complete site preparation for new equipment and create new PMs for new equipment.
  • Create work orders and assign them to technicians.
  • Run downtime reports.
  • Actively support plant safety efforts through departmental participation in safety meetings and safety walks.
  • Engage in safe practices and enforce safety rules and job rotations.
  • Assist the plant in achieving safety goals while maintaining Safe Workplace and Environmental and Sustainability objectives.
  • Report and correct unsafe conditions/behaviors, participate in safety/ergonomic committees, safety Kaizen events, safety audits, and safety observation feedback events.
  • Initiate timely investigations of all reported incidents/accidents and injuries.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-3 years related experience in a maintenance supervisory role.
