Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six years of experience as a licensed heating and air-conditioning mechanic or related job experience.
• Valid State of Texas Driver's License and ability to pass a Criminal Background Check.
• Evidence of training or experience sufficient to perform the duties of this position.

• 5 years of specific training in HVAC systems and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect work for conformance to standard trade practices.
• Repair, install, and maintain HVAC systems, machinery, and equipment.
• Supervise HVAC mechanics and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and laws.
• Prepare and submit work documentation, including work order submissions and system changes.
• Coordinate maintenance and installation of building systems with other trades and maintenance staff.
• Update and maintain mechanical systems information and schematic drawings.
• Perform routine maintenance and advanced repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures.
• Install and maintain mechanical systems and equipment such as HVAC, boilers, and controls.
• Monitor and adjust set points and operating parameters to optimize systems and conserve energy.
• Respond to environmental calls and perform on-call duties as required.
• Address complaints and resolve problems related to HVAC systems.
• Ensure safety and general housekeeping rules are followed during work.
• Promote and encourage staff across the institution.
