About the position

The HVAC Mobile Engineer is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on HVAC equipment and building systems across multiple locations. This role requires sophisticated HVAC skills and the ability to work independently under limited supervision. The ideal candidate will have experience with commercial and industrial HVAC systems, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Review assigned work orders and estimate time and materials needed for repairs.
  • Order necessary materials and supplies to complete tasks and use CMMS to track work orders.
  • Install and modify building equipment systems, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety laws.
  • Inspect and maintain HVAC roof top units (RTUs) and chiller systems.
  • Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure proper operation.
  • Coordinate and inspect work performed by outside contractors.
  • Maintain an energy management program to optimize system efficiency and reduce operating costs.
  • Maintain the building lighting system, including repairs or replacements of elements and ballasts.
  • Mentor other technicians as needed.
  • Report and communicate daily work activity via PDA device.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years of refrigeration experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Prior experience with RTUs and refrigeration systems preferred.
  • Experience in retail building maintenance and understanding of plumbing, drywall, painting, and flooring is preferred.
  • EPA 608 / CFC Certification is required.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks.
  • Ability to operate a full-size van/truck.
