About the position

As the HVAC Operations Manager at ARS-Rescue Rooter, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the service, installation, and sales operations within our Northern Virginia footprint. This position is designed for an experienced HVAC Manager who is ready to lead a team of professionals dedicated to providing exceptional service to our customers. You will be responsible for managing and developing the service, installation, or sales staff, which includes hiring, terminating, and disciplining employees, scheduling work, setting priorities, and conducting staff meetings. Your leadership will ensure that the team is well-equipped to meet the demands of the job and deliver high-quality service to our clients. In this role, you will evaluate workload and schedules to optimize manpower and maximize profits, while also managing labor expenses to stay within budget guidelines. Customer satisfaction is paramount, and you will be tasked with resolving any issues or complaints that arise. Achieving monthly budgeted revenue is a key performance indicator for this position, and you will ensure that materials and equipment are ordered and dispensed efficiently for scheduled jobs. Additionally, you will conduct research and participate in the marketing process of the department, generating reports and measuring departmental operations to maintain transparency and accountability. Your responsibilities will also include instructing crews on the proper use of materials and quality workmanship, reviewing payroll records for compliance, and conducting job site inspections as necessary. You will oversee facility and equipment maintenance, ensuring that all assets are protected and controlled. Safety is a priority, and you will observe all safety and company rules and regulations in the performance of your duties. Regular weekly meetings will be conducted to ensure alignment and communication within the team, and you will be expected to perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and develops the service, installation, or sales staff, including hiring, terminating, and disciplining employees.
  • Schedules employees, sets work priorities, and conducts staff meetings.
  • Evaluates workload and schedules to optimize manpower and maximize profits.
  • Resolves customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Achieves monthly budgeted revenue.
  • Ensures materials and equipment are ordered and dispensed for scheduled jobs.
  • Schedules repairs for parts to minimize downtime in job completion.
  • Manages material expenses to stay within budget.
  • Conducts research and participates in the marketing process of the department.
  • Generates reports and measures of departmental operations, including inventory, tools, and vehicles.
  • Instructs crews on proper use of materials and quality workmanship.
  • Reviews payroll records for compliance and proper technician payment.
  • Conducts job site inspections as needed.
  • Ensures employees have proper tools for the job and that they are maintained.
  • Assists in dispatching operations to ensure appropriate technician selection.
  • Monitors preventive maintenance of vehicles for proper operation.
  • Evaluates staff training requirements and provides on-the-job training.
  • Oversees facility and equipment maintenance to protect assets.
  • Observes all safety and company rules and regulations in performance of duties.
  • Conducts weekly meetings to ensure team alignment.

Requirements

  • Experienced in an HVAC Management position is highly preferred.
  • Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • A working knowledge of gas piping, electricity, plumbing, and air flow is required.
  • Knowledge of local and national HVAC code is preferred but not required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of local codes and general industry standards.
  • Strong supervisory, communication, computer, and mathematical skills are required.
