About the position

The HVAC Programmer at SpaceX is responsible for developing and integrating applications into the technical infrastructure and existing business processes. This role involves creating a complete programming package for HVAC control systems, training technicians, and improving automation for critical systems at the Starbase facility.

Responsibilities

• Set up process to write all programs and virtual points.
• Work in conjunction with engineers and HVAC Lead to produce controller and graphical software.
• Incorporate third party software into the design of building Environmental Control Automation Systems.
• Identify and obtain necessary components to network building automation system workstations.
• Configure software necessary to network workstations.
• Set up virtual and/or physical test systems to test all programming prior to release.
• Create functional test checkout sheets for Specialist checkout books.
• Provide technical support before, during, and after system installation.
• Provide recommendations to improve reliability of Environmental Control Automation Systems.
• Provide in-house software support and assist in maintenance of existing system software.
• Provide onsite assistance at critical facilities with functional testing as required.
• Perform administrative duties such as expense reports and documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of successful experience programming HVAC control strategies.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with HVAC, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical systems and control systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Associates degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred.
• Specialized skill training/certification may be required.
• Demonstrates strong leadership and organizational skills.
