HVAC Project Manager

About the position

ColonialWebb's Project Manager will be responsible for accurately preparing cost estimates for mechanical projects and overseeing project execution from inception to completion. This dual role requires a keen analytical mind, technical expertise, and strong leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Cost Analysis: Review project documents, drawings, and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems.
• Material & Labor Estimation: Calculate quantities, costs of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Bid Preparation: Prepare competitive and comprehensive bids and proposals, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
• Data Management: Maintain detailed records of estimates, pricing, and vendor information for future reference and benchmarking.
• Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans including timelines, resource allocation, budgeting, and risk management strategies.
• Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams to execute projects, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and collaboration while exceeding quality standards.
• Progress Monitoring: Track project milestones, monitor progress against plans, and adjust schedules as necessary to maintain project momentum.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams; provide regular status updates and address any issues promptly.
• Problem Solving: Proactively identify project challenges and implement effective solutions to maintain project timelines and quality.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including change orders, meeting minutes, and progress reports.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred - project management certifications are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical estimation and project management within the construction or mechanical services industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
• Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership qualities with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
