About the position

The HVAC Project Sales Engineer at EMCOR Services Shambaugh is responsible for providing expert knowledge and consultation on HVAC, piping, and electrical systems. This role involves working closely with customers to identify and implement solutions for repair and retrofit opportunities, focusing on financial and energy efficiency. The position requires strong relationship management skills and the ability to collaborate with the sales team to drive project success.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate, engineer, and sell retrofit, repair, and replacement mechanical projects.
  • Maintain relationships with existing customers and collaborate with management and the sales team.
  • Provide knowledge and consultation to develop HVAC system solutions for customer problems.
  • Utilize cold calling skills to schedule appointments with new customers.
  • Organize and prioritize workload effectively, identifying key customers and developing action plans to grow accounts.
  • Discover customer needs and market opportunities, coordinating the sales team as needed.
  • Identify potential opportunities with existing and new customers.
  • Convert leads into opportunities by determining the appropriate sales strategy and leading the sales process.
  • Develop multiple relationships with key decision-makers within customer organizations.
  • Achieve an acceptable rate of new sales.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in engineering, engineering technology, business management, or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of experience in facilities or HVAC services, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, and piping systems for design, estimating, and sales.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical and financial skills.
  • Interest in business development and networking at industry events.
  • Strong understanding and interest in modern technologies.
