About the position

As an HVAC Service Apprentice at Comfort Systems USA - Bristol, you will work closely with experienced HVAC service technicians to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC equipment. This role is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the HVACR industry while contributing to the team's success in delivering quality service to clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with performing assigned HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting tasks safely in commercial and industrial settings.
• Assist with preventative maintenance tasks and repair of commercial HVAC equipment as needed.
• Assist with diagnosing causes of breakdowns, testing parts with appropriate instruments, disassembling and assembling parts, and making necessary repairs to equipment.
• Use HVAC skills and experience to assist with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining medium to large sized complex heating and cooling systems.
• Utilize electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools to maintain systems.
• Complete required electronic documentation daily on a handheld device.
• Work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks within an allotted time frame.
• Operate company vehicle to complete service calls in a specified territory.
• Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• EPA Universal certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 preferred.
• Punctuality and reliability are essential.
• Ability to work as part of a team, supervising a team of apprentices and journeymen.
• Basic mathematics skills for accurate calculations.
• Ability to function in extreme weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
• Comfortable working at heights on lifts and ladders.
• Physically fit to stand, walk, reach outward, and lift/carry up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to work efficiently in small spaces and perform physical tasks such as crawling, squatting, kneeling, and bending.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor control.
