About the position

The HVAC Service & Solutions Account Manager at Daikin Applied is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, selling preventative maintenance contracts, and providing recommendations for service and repair work for HVAC systems. This role requires technical sales expertise and involves collaboration with various teams to meet sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Independent Manufacturers Representatives, District Office and Service Center Managers, sales colleagues, the parts team, and technicians in an assigned territory.
  • Meet sales goals through the development of existing customers and prospecting new business.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on various sources.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to solicit orders, build customer relationships, and follow up on customer concerns.
  • Prepare cost estimates and price quotations on new work and coordinate the preparation of cost estimates on project continuations.
  • Perform tests and conduct surveys on competitive products to determine the need for product alterations or new product development.
  • Prepare reports of pipeline, sales activity, and business plans.
  • Identify and implement tools and resources to assist in sales efforts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus HVAC certification and 5 years HVAC field service experience or a Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years commercial HVAC sales experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4 year Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, communications, or related field.
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle record.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Mechanical / technical aptitude/ability.
  • Advanced working knowledge of sales and product/service/solutions subject matter including complex turnkey, controls, and contracting.
  • Advanced business development skills and sales methodology to successfully close sales.
  • Financial / business acumen.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage complex projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in communicating with C Suite.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills with ability to build and foster relationships.
  • Advanced negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to provide recommendations and solutions for more complex concerns/issues.
