About the position

This is an entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to jumpstart their career in the HVAC industry. As an HVAC Service Technician Apprentice, you will perform field activities associated with the installation, maintenance, and servicing of HVAC systems for commercial customers. Your role will involve assisting with on-site preventative maintenance, routine repairs, and calibration after installation. You will work in a team-based environment, sharing information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction. Safety is a top priority, and you will be expected to work in a safe manner, adhering to all safety measures at all times. Flexibility to work overtime, on-call, and weekends is required, as the nature of the job may demand it. Responsibilities

  • Assist with on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration after installation.
  • Use technical abilities to maintain HVAC systems.
  • Work in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure safety measures are taken at all times during work activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • HVAC Trade school graduate strongly preferred with a 3.5 GPA and excellent attendance.
  • 1+ years in a mechanical support role, with some hands-on HVAC experience preferred.
  • EPA Certification- Type I & Type II or Universal preferred.
  • NATE certification is a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Moderate lifting capability (up to 90 pounds).
  • Technical aptitude to perform maintenance, service, and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to complete repairs and required paperwork.
  • Ability to work independently and self-schedule.
  • Self-motivated to complete assigned tasks within time constraints.
  • Driven to succeed and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Willingness to be periodically 'on call' for service coverage.
  • Must be willing to relocate to another part of the country once training is completed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a hands-on HVAC role.
