About the position

The HVAC Service Technician at Trane Technologies is responsible for providing service and maintenance for HVAC systems in a defined market, primarily within commercial environments such as healthcare, education, and manufacturing facilities. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and commissioning HVAC systems while ensuring customer satisfaction and safety. Technicians will utilize their technical knowledge and skills to work with both internal and external partners, contributing to the company's commitment to innovative climate solutions and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary service and maintenance contact for customers in a defined market.
  • Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems in commercial environments.
  • Coordinate with team leaders and customers to understand requirements for on-site installations and repairs.
  • Represent the company as the direct customer contact, ensuring satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems.
  • Utilize software and technology, along with hand-tools, to diagnose and repair HVAC units.
  • Maintain flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain accountability of company assets.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, with typically 5+ years of experience in HVAC.
  • Technical School or formal training preferred.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., smartphones, iPads).
  • Valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months with no major traffic violations.
  • EPA Certification.

  • Experience with advanced HVAC systems and technologies.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
