About the position
The HVAC Service Technician at Trane Technologies is responsible for the service and maintenance of HVAC systems in a commercial environment. This role involves commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems for a diverse range of clients, including healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and office complexes. The technician will utilize their knowledge of air conditioning theory and mechanical layouts to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient operation of HVAC systems.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with team leader/project manager and customer to understand requirements for on-site installation and repairs.
- Serve as the direct customer contact, ensuring satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer locations.
- Use software and technology, along with hand-tools, to diagnose and repair HVAC units following blueprints or engineering specifications.
- Maintain flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required, including occasional overnight stays.
- Enforce safety standards and maintain accountability of company assets.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience preferred.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., smartphone, iPad).
- Valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months with no major traffic violations.
- EPA Certification.
