HVAC Service Technician

About the position

Lane Valente Industries is seeking a dedicated HVAC Service Technician to join our team. As a leading international construction and facility maintenance company, we pride ourselves on our strong in-house group of field technicians who service top U.S. corporations. This position is crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction through the effective servicing of products and equipment on assigned projects. The HVAC Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems at customer locations, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards. In this role, you will utilize a variety of hand tools and follow blueprints or engineering specifications to carry out repairs and maintenance tasks. You will be expected to identify, analyze, and diagnose issues with HVAC systems, and perform necessary repairs or modifications as requested by customers. Additionally, you will prepare for on-site installations by examining building layouts, anticipating potential difficulties, and gathering the required materials. The HVAC Service Technician will also be responsible for maintaining company vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly documented. You will serve as a direct contact for customers, providing technical support and maintaining clear communication regarding the status of repairs and services. Flexibility is key, as this position may require overtime and weekend work, along with regular travel, including some overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Uses a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units
• Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products at customer's location
• Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers
• Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work as necessary
• Inspects vehicles by checking vehicle condition and cleanliness
• Maintains vehicles by keeping records of service, scheduling, and completing repairs and maintenance service
• Maintains equipment by inspecting for signs of wear and notifying customer and/or Operations Manager of findings
• Documents work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files
• Represents company by serving as a direct customer contact
• Determines parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need
• Records parts, material, labor, subs and other cost data per assignment and returns unused resources
• Turns in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner
• Keeps current on all products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service and repair
• Reads and interprets product specifications
• Provides technical support to customers
• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as necessary
• Regular travel requirements with some overnight travel as needed

Requirements

• Experience in HVAC service and repair
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Nice-to-haves
