About the position
The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and installations of HVAC systems, including hot air, boiler, water heating, and air conditioning systems. This role requires troubleshooting and diagnosing issues, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and providing excellent customer service. The technician will operate a company vehicle, maintain inventory, and participate in ongoing training and certification programs.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs of HVAC systems and related components.
- Conduct plumbing, duct, and electrical work as needed.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct problems on HVAC systems.
- Perform efficiency and combustion tests.
- Operate various modern industry-related tools required to complete the job.
- Maintain a clean and well-kept company vehicle.
- Ensure compliance with traffic and environmental laws and regulations.
- Complete all reports and paperwork according to company standards.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of all customer and company information.
- Collaborate with Sales Specialists and coworkers to enhance customer experience.
- Report to work as scheduled and work overtime as needed.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as an HVAC Service Technician or completed MEP HVAC Apprenticeship.
- Valid driver's license.
- EPA Refrigerant certification (must obtain within 1 year if not currently certified).
- CETP qualifications (must obtain within 1 year if not currently certified).
- Ability to maintain a professional manner in difficult situations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and determination.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with customer service in a technical field.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and components.
