HVAC Tech III or IV

About the position

The HVAC Tech III or IV position at Bryan ISD involves diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC systems, including chilled water and refrigeration systems. The role requires a strong understanding of HVAC equipment and controls, as well as the ability to work independently and follow safety procedures. This position is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of HVAC systems within the district.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, repair and maintain industrial chilled water, heating water and HVAC equipment including cooling towers, chillers, boilers, and air handlers.
• Diagnose, service, repair and maintain refrigeration systems including walk-in coolers and ice machines.
• Install new HVAC systems and components and relocate existing systems as needed.
• Fabricate, assemble and install duct work and piping according to specifications and code.
• Wire and connect motors, compressors, and sensors according to schematics.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all HVAC equipment.
• Perform water treatment testing and maintenance on cooling towers and water loops.
• Select materials and make time and materials estimates for projects.
• Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure work areas are clean and neat.
• Respond to emergency calls as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Texas Driver License.
• Four years of experience in HVAC systems maintenance and repair.
• Certified Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic preferred.
• Certified Universal Technician for Refrigerant Handling.
• Maintenance Electrician License preferred.
• Some knowledge of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to read and understand instructions in English.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of energy management software and control systems such as I NET, TAC, Alerton, Automated Logic, and Delta.
