About the position
The HVAC Technician repairs, checks, and calibrates all HVAC, refrigeration, and kitchen equipment, including specialty equipment as needed. Responsibilities include air balance and distribution, component replacements (including sealed systems), troubleshooting controls, and maintaining the hospital's energy management, DX, and water systems.
Responsibilities
- Installs new and/or modifies existing equipment or operating systems in accordance with specifications and supervisor's directions.
- Maintains the Fertility Clinic's HVAC, including all air handing maintenance, cleaning and PM procedures.
- Maintains stocks of commonly expendable materials and parts to prevent downtime due to unavailability.
- Maintains all offsite HVAC and other equipment as listed in the hospital PM system or special duty task.
- Maintains VAV boxes, thermostats, and other controls associated with the HVAC system.
- Maintains dietary and kitchen equipment.
- Performs maintenance work order assignments thoroughly and systematically to eliminate the need for a minor 'call-back' prior to the next scheduled maintenance check.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Trade or vocational school in HVAC is highly preferred.
- Must have strong knowledge of controls and electricity.
- Up to three years experience of on-the-job training in maintenance, installation and repair of HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen equipment and sterilizing equipment.
