About the position
The HVAC Technician at Generac Power Systems will be responsible for performing field service maintenance and emergency repairs on various HVAC equipment used in telecommunication and data centers. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of HVAC systems, contributing to the overall safety and productivity of the environments served. The technician will work independently, responding to emergency service requests and performing routine preventative maintenance, while adhering to safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical components of HVAC systems
- Perform routine preventative maintenance
- Respond to emergency service requests
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma
- HVAC School: 200 hours minimum
- Valid current driver's license and driving record that meets company standards
- Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate
- 150 Electrical Code hours
- Valid EPA certification
- 4000 work hours for Level I and II, 6000 work hours for Level III
Nice-to-haves
- 20 hours of continuing education training for Level II
- 80 hours of continuing education training and/or pass the NATE Service (CHP-5) certification test for Level III
- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and system controls
- Professional communication skills
