About The Position

Under general supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Manager, as a HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosing, servicing, and repair of HVAC systems, ensuring that they operate efficiently and meet quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
  • One (1) year of hands-on experience in HVAC maintenance and repair in residential, commercial, and/or industrial facilities.
  • Must have a valid Class C driver's license (Texas by hire date) and maintain a good driving record.
  • Understanding of heating, cooling, and ventilation system operations, including furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations, including EPA guidelines and refrigerant handling procedures.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Good understanding of electrical, ductwork, piping, and controls.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, replacing filters, and checking refrigerant levels.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing common HVAC system issues, including mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Self-starter possessing good interpersonal skills and be a productive team member.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance tasks, including cleaning, inspecting, and replacing filters, belts, and other components.
  • Diagnose and repair issues with HVAC systems, such as furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation systems.
  • Test system performance and ensure equipment operates efficiently and within safety standards.
  • Document & maintain accurate service records utilizing asset management system.
  • Inspect all aspects of job sites for safety, compliance and conforming to Precinct 2, Local, County, State and Federal specifications/requirements.
  • Keep tools and equipment in proper working condition and manage inventory effectively.
  • Ensure operation by tracking preventative maintenance requirements, calling for repairs, assisting with maintaining equipment supplies and materials.
  • Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by management or as necessitated by the evolving needs of the organization.
