About the position
The HVAC technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems and additional equipment used in the hospital. This role involves ensuring the proper functioning of various HVAC components, including air handlers, rooftop units, and refrigeration systems, while also interacting compassionately with staff and patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform periodic maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot issues with air handler units, rooftop units, split systems, and other HVAC components.
- Read and interpret construction blueprints and drawings for troubleshooting purposes.
- Operate various tools and equipment such as vacuum pumps, manifold gauges, and digital volt/amp meters.
- Log daily production and work performed in a work order system using a computer or device.
- Understand and utilize the Building Automation System (BAS) for daily operations and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Certificate in Heating and Cooling or Certificate in Air Conditioning or equivalent experience required.
- 5 years of facilities maintenance experience required.
- 5 years of HVAC maintenance experience required in lieu of degree.
- CFC Certification preferred.
