About the position

The HVAC Technician at Amentum will be responsible for providing expert maintenance and support for HVAC systems in a commercial or industrial setting. This role emphasizes teamwork, customer service, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards, ensuring optimal operation of mechanical systems and equipment. The technician will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment.
  • Ensure optimal operation of mechanical systems through routine inspections and maintenance.
  • Identify and correct safety-related issues and evaluate equipment for potential failures.
  • Operate, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair various HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Utilize building automation systems to monitor building conditions and equipment operation.
  • Recharge refrigerant levels and ensure proper functioning of air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance tasks from a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Respond to customer service requests and provide feedback on work orders.
  • Follow safety guidelines including job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Use diagnostic instruments to provide energy efficiency solutions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • EPA Universal Refrigeration License.
  • Five years of experience as an HVAC/R maintenance technician in industrial or commercial environments.
  • Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and complete fit tests.
  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at the client's location.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical degree preferred.
  • Experience in a GMP or regulated environment such as hospitals or pharmaceutical campuses.
  • Ability to read and understand repair manuals and schematic diagrams.
  • Experience with heavy industrial systems and building automation control systems.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
