About the position

The HVAC Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance and compliance of HVAC systems within the hospital. This role serves as an expert resource for all HVAC functions, maintaining necessary records for inspections and collaborating with various departments to meet the needs of patients and staff. The technician also provides support for construction projects and assists in compliance with environmental care management plans.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure HVAC systems are maintained in compliance with all applicable regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain all required testing, maintenance, and certification records for inspection as needed.
  • Serve as a resource for construction to contractors, the Plant Manager, and architects.
  • Collaborate with other hospital departments to meet the needs of patients, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Assist in compliance with the environment of care management plans.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or related vocational training is required.
  • Three years of facilities maintenance experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Systems, specifically Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Systems, and Mechanical Systems within Maintenance/Plant Operations is desired.
  • Refrigerant Handling Technician certification is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Systems, or HVAC Refrigeration is preferred.
  • Five years of hospital facilities maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Valid state driver's license and must be insurable to operate hospital vehicles is preferred.
  • Plumbing License is preferred.
  • ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Certificate is preferred.
