About the position
The HVAC Technician at Hinds Community College is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on all HVAC equipment within the district. This role requires a commitment to the Caring Campus approach to student engagement, ensuring that all interactions with students are positive and meaningful. The technician will be expected to maintain knowledge of HVAC systems and perform essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on all HVAC equipment in the district.
- Check mechanical systems on campus daily by physically walking the campus and through the EMS control system.
- Utilize knowledge of HVAC equipment to make repairs.
- Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in the HVAC field.
- Certification to use all Freon.
- Knowledge of boilers, chillers, RTUs, AHUs, and split system units.
- Preferred certificate of completion from a career tech institute or a Community College degree or certification.
- Knowledge of EMS controls and operation of Johnson Metasys or Schneider controls.
