About the position

The HVI Business Manager plays a crucial role in the operations team, reporting to the HVI Senior Director/VP. This position is responsible for integrating strategic plans and ensuring the effective delivery of HVI services. The Business Manager will oversee departmental business operations, including financial management, supply management, and the implementation of policies that support operational efficiency and service line growth. The role involves collaboration with clinical and administrative leaders to enhance the performance of the heart and vascular institute.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and audit billing processes and charges for procedures and clinic appointments.
  • Prepare analysis of supply variance reports to ensure accurate supply budgeting.
  • Supervise and coordinate annual inventory in conjunction with nursing and the Finance Department.
  • Develop proformas to support capital equipment requests.
  • Prepare annual capital requests for the HVI in conjunction with HVI Sr. Director and clinical leaders.
  • Maintain accurate physician credentials in conjunction with MAO.
  • Maintain the HVI dictionaries and charge master updates in Epic.
  • Coordinate and implement Epic upgrades.
  • Implement new services and technological advancements.
  • Analyze trends in market share and demand, primary service area needs, physician preferences and clinical practice.
  • Lead analytics functions of the department to promote data-driven decisions.
  • Develop new programs for data collection and statistical reports.
  • Present periodic and ad-hoc data and analytical reports to the HVI Steering Committee, departmental leaders and hospital executives concerning department performance.
  • Establish operational priorities and activities to facilitate and support program success.
  • Serve as the liaison with product vendors for trials, product issues, implementation, and operational outcomes.
  • Provide oversight of staff scheduling, payroll administration and the processing of evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in health management, business or related field.
  • 4 years of financial management experience in a clinical services environment, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Working knowledge of ICD10 (Medical Coding).
  • Basic knowledge and working experience with Medical Terminology.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in a similar role.
