About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position requires a strong understanding of technical accounting principles and proficiency in various accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update financial records in accordance with GAAP standards.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently.
• Assist in the preparation of tax documents and ensure timely submissions.
• Utilize accounting software such as Quicken, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Kronos, and Workday for data entry and reporting.
• Conduct reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Support month-end closing procedures by preparing necessary journal entries.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with governmental accounting regulations.
• Provide assistance during audits by preparing required documentation and reports.

Requirements

• Proficient in technical accounting principles and practices.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and tax regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.
• Good communication skills to interact with various departments and stakeholders.
• Preferred college graduate with Business/Accounting focus.
• 3+ years of experience, performing functions as outlined in the Job Description.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior industry experience or experience in small to mid-size firm a plus.
• Experience with Deltek Vision or Deltek Vantagepoint a plus.
