About the position

The HYBRID CNA Trainee Program at UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health is designed to train individuals to become Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA). The program consists of three weeks of training, including online coursework, hybrid instruction, and clinical training. Upon successful completion, trainees will be eligible to take the NYS certification exam and will be guaranteed a CNA position with the organization, along with a $1500 bonus for completing the required coursework.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for assigned residents under the direction of supervisory nursing staff.
• Assist in the development of nursing care plans by participating in care conferences.
• Complete online coursework and attend in-person clinical training as part of the CNA training program.
• Work under supervision during both classroom and clinical training periods.
• Assist in administering simple treatments and providing basic nursing care to residents.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Currently enrolled in a State approved Nurse Aide Training Program.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology.
• Demonstrates ability to work under stress.
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and providing basic nursing care.
• Understanding of standard techniques used in providing personal services for residents.

Nice-to-haves

• High school degree, GED, and/or Human Services degree (or coursework).
• Prior Nursing Assistant, Long Term Care experience, or PCA/HHA experience.
