About the position

The Controller position is a key leadership role within a manufacturing company located in Westchester County, NY. This hybrid role combines the stability of a larger organization with the flexibility and growth opportunities typical of a smaller company. The Controller will oversee the accounting team, manage daily operations, and play a crucial role in financial reporting and strategic planning. The position requires a hands-on approach, with significant involvement in month-end closing, GL reconciliation, and financial analysis, while also providing leadership and guidance to the accounting staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Accounting Team (3) ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Manage daily accounting operations while supporting overall strategic direction
• Evaluate accounts payable and accounts receivable activities including collections
• Collect, monitor, and analyze financial information, investigating variances
• Assess business operations creating sales forecasts for future income and costs
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation and closing procedures
• Create financial statements, reports, and presentations
• Monitor and manage budgets, forecasts, and long-term projections
• Liaise with an outsourced firm by coordinating audits and reviewing taxes
• Participate in weekly leadership meetings and recommend process improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• 2+ years of people leadership experience required
• High-level accounting experience (FP&A, budgeting, compliance, etc.) required
• Tech savvy with strong Excel skills including pivot tables required
• Manufacturing background with familiarity in cost accounting required
