About the position

The Managed Care Policy Administrator (Medicaid Health Systems Administrator 2) plays a crucial role in the Ohio Department of Medicaid, focusing on the planning, management, evaluation, and implementation of policies related to Medicaid Managed Care programs. This position involves responding to policy inquiries, coordinating policy development, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The role is essential for improving health outcomes for Ohioans and streamlining administrative processes within the Medicaid system.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, managing, evaluating, and implementing policies related to enrollment in Medicaid Managed Care programs.
  • Responding to policy inquiries related to Managed Care.
  • Acting as a liaison to other policy areas within ODM.
  • Implementing Medicaid State Plan Amendments (SPA) and Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) rule changes.
  • Coordinating policy development, provider agreement amendments, and administrative rules for Managed Care Plans.
  • Assisting in providing strategic oversight of policies and procedures governing Medicaid Managed Care.
  • Ensuring compliance of Managed Care program policies with federal and state regulations.
  • Assisting higher-level administrators in the development and coordination of overall programs relating to Medicaid health delivery systems.

Requirements

  • Completion of graduate core program in business, management, public administration, public health, health administration, social or behavioral science, or public finance.
  • 24 months of experience in planning and administering health services programs or health services project management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with health care data analysis.
  • Health services contract management experience.
  • Knowledge of health care market and financial expertise.
