About the position

The Philanthropy Data Analyst at Carle Foundation Hospital plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective operation of the Carle Health Center for Philanthropy's systems, with a primary focus on the Raiser's Edge database. This position is designed to support the Director of Operations in overseeing Philanthropy systems and technology, executing specific tasks, and acting as a bridge between strategy development and the execution of operational activities. The analyst will be responsible for managing day-to-day database, technical, and software processes, ensuring that all systems function smoothly and efficiently. In this role, the Data Analyst will coordinate and verify data management initiatives, which include database integration projects, constituent data updates, and data imports. The analyst will execute priorities related to process improvement, project management, and automation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the department. Additionally, the analyst will provide the Philanthropy team with system services for quality control, information management, and technical assistance, ensuring that all team members have the support they need to perform their roles effectively. The position also involves leading documentation and policy management best practices, working closely with vendors, contractors, and consultants to utilize technology and optimize data flow. The analyst will manage technical projects by scheduling, planning, and testing new features, as well as training team members on new workflows utilizing project management best practices. Maintaining a comprehensive view of technology from business process, data, infrastructure, security, and application perspectives is essential for this role. Furthermore, the Data Analyst will ensure operational consistency for all processes across the system and regions, focusing on Philanthropy's donor database. This includes organizing processes and systems for effective communication with external constituents, tracking projects, data, and mass communications. The analyst will also write queries, perform exports, and provide technical services for mass communications and events, as well as create, edit, and run reports related to quarterly performance, goal tracking, IRS documents, and charity care documents. The role requires assembling and organizing various sources of data to be utilized as part of portfolio management, grateful patient programs, and events, leveraging hospital data files, wealth screening, and the donor database to create effective communication and solicitation processes for Philanthropy.

Responsibilities

  • Assume day-to-day responsibility for database, technical, and software processes.
  • Coordinate and verify data management initiatives, including database integration projects, constituent data updates, and data imports.

  • Lead technical projects by managing, scheduling, planning and testing.
  • Conduct new feature training, demonstration, and roll out, establishing new workflows utilizing project management best practices.
  • Maintain operational consistency for all processes across the system and regions, focusing on Philanthropy's donor database.
  • Organize processes and systems for effective communication with Philanthropy external constituents.
  • Utilize technology to track projects, data, and mass communications.
  • Write queries, perform exports, and provide technical services for mass communications and events.
  • Create, edit, and run reports related to quarterly performance, goal tracking, IRS documents, and charity care documents.
  • Assemble and organize various sources of data for portfolio management, grateful patient programs, and events.
  • Assist the Director of Operations with execution of duties related to reporting, data, gift processing, gift acknowledgment, donated funds, and mass communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Three years of experience in database management, project management, or technology management.
