About the position

The DataOps Architect is a customer-facing role responsible for the design, modernization, and deployment of enterprise-level data estates, leveraging Microsoft's ecosystem of data technologies and native Azure services. This position emphasizes data governance and DataOps best practices, working closely with technical leads from both the Cloud Practice and DevOps Practice. The architect will integrate various data components with the overall solution, ensuring alignment with industry best practices such as the Well Architected and Cloud Adoption Frameworks. In this role, the DataOps Architect is expected to provide technical thought leadership, establish proven design patterns, and implement processes for evaluating and/or rearchitecting data landscapes across various maturity states. This includes creating long-term remediation strategies and defining relevant milestones that help catalyze the customer's business objectives. The architect will collaborate with cloud engineers and developers to ensure best practices and proper resource utilization, while also assisting customers with model deployment and operations. The goal is to equip customers with the necessary tools and insights to make informed decisions regarding the maintenance and evolution of their data landscape. A strong familiarity with the Azure cloud platform is essential, particularly experience with Azure and Microsoft data platforms, as well as business intelligence (BI), reporting, data pipelines, and data warehouses/data lakes. The architect will also be responsible for assessing and modernizing obsolete or partially deployed data warehouses, helping clients transition to a modernized data landscape that leverages a centralized data lake with a proper governance framework to empower self-service analytics and democratized modeling aimed at analyst communities.
