About the position

The Provider Compliance Supervisor (External Audit Manager 1) at the Ohio Department of Medicaid is responsible for overseeing the Provider Audits and Compliance Review section. This role involves conducting onsite and virtual audits of Medicaid providers, supervising audit staff, and ensuring compliance with auditing standards. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders while maintaining high audit quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct onsite and virtual reviews of Medicaid providers.
  • Supervise audit staff and review audit reports.
  • Monitor and adjust ongoing audit work, establishing quality standards.
  • Analyze confidential records and information from various data systems.
  • Collaborate with other reviewers and ODM professionals to analyze provider payment claims.
  • Communicate with ODM program integrity partners and maintain favorable relations with customers.
  • Travel to provider sites, including some overnight stays.

Requirements

  • Completion of undergraduate core coursework in accounting, business administration, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in auditing or accounting, including 30 months of auditing experience.
  • 1 year of experience or training in supervisory principles/techniques.
  • Or 7 years of experience in auditing or accounting, including 42 months of auditing experience.
  • 1 year of experience or training in supervisory principles/techniques.
  • Or 12 months of experience as an External Audit Supervisor.

Nice-to-haves

  • Background in auditing or accounting in Health Care Management or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
