About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst at Carle Health is responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on operating and capital plans for the organization and its subsidiaries. This role involves performing long-term financial projects for executive management, conducting product line and new services analysis, and making informed recommendations to executive management based on the findings. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of financial planning and analysis within the healthcare sector, ensuring that all financial activities align with the strategic objectives of the organization. In this role, the Senior Financial Analyst will coordinate the development of the operating plan for MHSC, collaborating with administration and directors from UPH Peoria and all affiliates to ensure timely and accurate completion. The analyst will maintain the Strata Jazz Budget System and participate in developing benchmarks for operating and staffing expenses. This includes providing instructions and technical assistance to directors in completing and documenting plan requests, as well as analyzing these requests for presentation to executive management. The analyst will also distribute approved plans and supporting schedules to all relevant departments. Another key responsibility is to gather statistical, financial, and labor hour information, analyzing significant variances from actual to planned figures. The analyst will produce various meaningful reports in a timely manner, providing explanations of salary and other variances for inclusion in financial statements. Additionally, the role involves maintaining the current FTE plan by recording all staffing change forms and analyzing the efficiency of staffing and expense utilization by flexing the fixed plan based on actual outcomes. The Senior Financial Analyst will also complete the annual long-range financial plan and respond to various internal and external requests for financial information. This includes producing annual updates to the 5-year plan in coordination with strategic plan objectives and input from administration, as well as completing the annual AHA survey and submitting statistics for the annual nursing magnet accreditation survey. The analyst will also provide quarterly nursing unit labor data for the NDNQI survey and assist other departments with survey information on a PRN basis.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Visionware productivity system and provide labor productivity reports.
  • Complete the annual long-range financial plan and respond to internal and external financial information requests.
  • Produce annual updates to the 5-year plan and complete the annual AHA survey.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.
  • Advanced reading, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate professionally with a variety of people.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
