About the position
The Structural Designer position at Actalent involves supporting design teams across various industrial sectors, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of structural drawings. The role requires collaboration with other design disciplines to resolve design clashes and includes on-site verification of physical design conditions.
Responsibilities
- Support Designers and project team members across various industries
- Ensure structural drawing deliverables are completed on-time and within budget
- Collaborate with other design disciplines to resolve physical design clashes within the 3D model
- Review the 3D model for completeness
- Travel to client facilities to verify on-site physical design conditions
- Produce 2D structural drawing deliverables with attention to quality, consistency, and accountability.
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience
- Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design Technology preferred (CAD certificate required if non-degreed)
- Industrial experience in mining, wastewater, oil and gas, or similar sectors.
- Proficiency in CADworx and at least 1 major CAD software (AutoCAD or MicroStation)
- Awareness of American Concrete Institute (ACI) for foundation design
- Awareness of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) manual for steel design
- Awareness of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
- Proficiency with Bentley Open Buildings Designer preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Autodesk Navisworks
- Experience with Autodesk Revit
- Experience with Trimble Tekla
