About the position

The Structural Drafter position at Actalent involves supporting design teams in creating structural drawings for various industrial projects. The role requires collaboration with other design disciplines and ensuring that deliverables are completed on time and within budget. Candidates will utilize CAD software to produce high-quality 2D structural drawings and may need to travel to client facilities for on-site verification.

Responsibilities

• Support Designers and project team members across various industries.
• Ensure structural drawing deliverables are completed on-time and within budget.
• Collaborate with other design disciplines to resolve physical design clashes within the 3D model.
• Review the 3D model for completeness.
• Travel to client facilities to verify on-site physical design conditions.
• Produce 2D structural drawing deliverables with attention to quality, consistency, and accountability.

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in structural drafting.
• Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design Technology preferred (CAD certificate required if non-degreed).
• Industrial experience in mining, wastewater, oil and gas, or similar sectors.
• Proficiency in CADworx and at least 1 major CAD software (AutoCAD or MicroStation).
• Awareness of American Concrete Institute (ACI) for foundation design.
• Awareness of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) manual for steel design.
• Awareness of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency with Bentley Open Buildings Designer preferred.
• Experience with Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk Revit, and Trimble Tekla valued but not required.
