About the position

We are seeking a qualified Structural Engineer to join our Special Projects Group at a top-tier, multi-disciplined engineering firm. This hybrid/remote role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of challenging projects, including port developments, marine engineering, ferry terminals, shipyards, fish and wildlife facilities, naval facilities, small boat marinas, and design-build infrastructure. As a Structural Engineer, you will be directly involved in the design and project management of these projects, contributing to our reputation for excellence and innovation in the engineering field. Responsibilities

  • Design and manage structural engineering projects for various types of infrastructure including ports, ferry terminals, and shipyards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct structural analysis and design using software tools such as SAP2000 and L-Pile.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, reports, and construction documents.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and codes relevant to structural engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required; Structural Engineer (SE) license is a plus.
  • Experience in concrete, steel, and timber design.
  • Knowledge of pre-stressed concrete and seismic design principles.
  • Familiarity with performance-based seismic design and soil-structure interaction analysis.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software, including SAP2000, L-Pile, MS Excel, and VBA.
  • Strong understanding of ASCE 61-14, AASHTO, IBC, ASCE-7, AISC, ACI, and NDS.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis.
  • Experience with non-building related project types.
  • Interest in marine engineering and fisheries engineering.
