About the position

Podiatry Associates is seeking a dedicated and ambitious Hybrid Surgical Tech/Medical Assistant to support surgical procedures and administrative tasks across multiple locations. This full-time role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, including assisting in surgeries and performing medical assistant duties when not in surgery. The position requires travel between various ambulatory surgical centers and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preoperative and postoperative procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Process and sterilize surgical instruments.
• Ensure room turnover and maintain a safe environment for surgical patients.
• Stock supplies and track inventory.
• Conduct preoperative phone calls and verify insurance and prior authorizations.
• Prepare and review surgical charts.
• Assist the surgeon during scheduled procedures.
• Transport necessary supplies or patient information as needed.
• Perform various administrative tasks as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS Certification is required; ACLS Certification is a plus.
• Experience with EMR systems, preferably Athenahealth.
• Customer service skills and medical knowledge are advantageous.
• Certified Surgical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant is preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

• Medical Assistant Certification (not required, training provided).
• Experience in wound care.
