About the position

The Medical-Surgical nurse plays a crucial role in managing the care of adult or geriatric patients with general medical conditions or surgical procedures. This position requires the nurse to assess patient conditions, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide education and support to patients and their families, ensuring a high standard of care and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Monitor vital signs and report any changes to physicians
• Provide education to patients and families on disease management and self-care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN-approved program
• At least two years' nursing experience
• Basic computer skills and knowledge
• Excellent customer service skills
• Thrives in rapidly changing environment
• Self-motivated
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
• Exhibits valuable time management skills
• Strong critical thinking/problem-solving skills
