About the position

The Mental Health Administrator 2 serves as a Community Resource Program Coordinator within the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD). This role focuses on supporting individuals with developmental disabilities by facilitating their transition from developmental centers to community-based options. The administrator is responsible for ensuring that discharge and transition plans are tailored to individual needs, providing education to families, and coordinating with community providers to enhance service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Community Resource Program Coordinator in assigned Developmental Center (DC).
  • Assist DCs in completing person-centered Discharge & Transition Plans.
  • Provide guardian/family education regarding community placement options.
  • Create strong links and serve as a liaison between centers, community providers, and County Boards.
  • Assist in breaking down system barriers to provide necessary services for individuals transitioning to community-based options.
  • Ensure community provider staff are trained in effective delivery of training techniques/methods.
  • Ensure appropriate community resources are in place prior to discharge.
  • Guide and direct staff in community homes contracting with DODD.
  • Consult with family members and guardians to ensure individual goals are met.
  • Conduct and participate in Discharge Reviews, including in-person evaluations and data analysis.
  • Responsible for Quality Assurance Review and follow-up when required.
  • Manage the Individual Assessment Form (IAF) exception review process.
  • Provide regional technical assistance to groups such as the Private Provider Teams.
  • Serve as a liaison between DODD and County Boards of DD and community providers.
  • Present training on the Trauma Informed Care Initiative and consult on assigned cases.
  • Complete the Ohio Developmental Disability profile (ODDP) as assigned.
  • Work on Support Intensity Scale (SIS) as assigned.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 4 years of administrative experience in a mental health program area.
  • Completion of an associate's core program in mental health, social work, or a comparable field, with 12 months of training or experience in state and/or federal regulations governing care for mental health consumers.
  • Completion of an undergraduate core program in mental health, social work, or a comparable field, with 12 months of training in employee training and development.
  • 6 months of experience as Mental Health Administrator 1, 65221, or equivalent qualifications.
