About the position

The Hydraulics and Driveline Engineering Manager at Mi-Jack Products, Inc. is responsible for leading the design and development of Engine Installation Systems, Hydraulic Systems, and Driveline Systems across the company's material handling product line. This role emphasizes enhancing machine performance, reliability, and standardization through collaboration with technology partners and internal teams, while upholding the company's culture and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the team responsible for the design and development of Engine Installation Systems, Hydraulic Systems, and Driveline Systems.
  • Collaborate across engineering product platforms and technical teams to develop solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external industry engine, hydraulic, and driveline partners.
  • Partner with vehicle systems experts and engine suppliers to craft a comprehensive power system development and validation strategy.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide direction to the power systems design team.
  • Provide input on the development of engineering processes and procedures.
  • Promote and maintain a high level of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Estimate resources required to complete projects and ensure staffing requirements are met.
  • Provide budget input on product development tasks and be accountable for team member growth and development.
  • Coordinate team member performance evaluations and goal setting.
  • Interface with engine, hydraulic, and driveline component suppliers to understand their components.
  • Oversee the detailing and releasing of engineering drawings for components and systems.
  • Maintain CAD for components, systems, and schematics using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Lead new product introduction design efforts, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications.
  • Anticipate and adapt to technological changes in the industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in an engineering capacity supporting product development, focusing on engine, hydraulic, and driveline systems in heavy equipment industries.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience leading successful teams is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design and development practices for heavy machinery power systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related engineering field is preferred.
