About the position

The Hydrogeologist and Groundwater Modeler will join a team of industry experts to contribute to innovative solutions for groundwater remediation, particularly focusing on contaminants like PFAS. The role involves developing and evaluating groundwater flow and contaminant transport models, collaborating with various specialists, and supporting multiple projects while ensuring high-quality deliverables for clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate conceptual site models and numerical models for groundwater flow and contaminant transport.
  • Collaborate with geologists, hydrogeologists, chemists, engineers, and GIS analysts on modeling projects.
  • Review site investigations, mitigation actions, and remedial investigations to apply modeling for groundwater remediation designs.
  • Compile, synthesize, and analyze data to develop conceptual site models and prepare reports for clients and regulators.
  • Conduct environmental fieldwork, including sampling and groundwater level gauging, and oversee field subcontractors.
  • Support multiple concurrent projects and interact directly with clients to prepare and review models and presentations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in developing groundwater flow and contaminant transport models for environmental investigations.
  • Experience with MODFLOW and MODPATH codes and their user interfaces, including Groundwater Vistas and Visual MODFLOW.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of conceptual site models, geophysical surveys, and remediation project management activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or Civil Engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with RACER software, Arc-GIS, and HEC software.
  • Knowledge of GIS mapping and field geology.
  • Master's degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
  • Licensed Professional Geologist and Engineer Certification.
