About the position

The Hydrovac Operator position at Badger Daylighting Corp involves operating hydrovac equipment to perform safe excavation and utility uncovering for various construction projects. The role requires attention to detail, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to work in diverse environments, including confined spaces. The operator will be responsible for driving hydrovac trucks, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols while contributing to essential infrastructure work.

Responsibilities

• Operating hydrovac equipment and performing hydrovac duties in various working environments, including confined spaces.
• Driving hydrovac trucks (10-15% of total work time).
• Attending safety meetings.
• Performing routine inspections and minor repairs of the hydrovac equipment.
• Preparing work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards.
• Documenting and reporting all Badger, Federal, State, and Customer paperwork accurately and efficiently.

Requirements

• Valid Class A or B CDL with Tanker endorsement; or willingness to obtain it.
• Ability to work variable shifts with extended hours.
• Must be willing to travel up to 25%.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull 50+ pounds and have the physical stamina for manual labor in varying weather conditions.
• Prior hydrovac equipment operation or related industrial experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice-to-haves

• CPR/First Aid, Fall Protection and OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Preferred experience driving a manual transmission (10-18 speed) without automatic restrictions.
