About the position

As a Hyperion Application Engineer at Amazon, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on building high-performance, globally scalable financial systems that support Amazon's growth. This role is situated within Amazon Finance Technology (FinTech), where innovation is encouraged, and developers are expected to take ownership of product vision and technical architecture. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining solutions that facilitate large-scale data ingestion and computation, significantly reducing manual work for global Accounting and Finance teams. Your primary responsibilities will include deploying the Monthly Chart of Accounts to enable US GAAP reporting and statutory GAAP reporting for over 80 IFRS and Local GAAP regions. You will collaborate with various engineering and business teams across Amazon to plan, design, execute, and implement these solutions globally. The systems you work on will process large-scale data sets, leveraging the latest technologies from the AWS stack, providing you with an excellent opportunity to learn and grow in your career. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DRM application development and maintenance, with a solid understanding of accounting requirements and the ability to write complex DRM rules to meet reporting needs. You will also need to troubleshoot Essbase Accounting cubes and have extensive experience in defining Chart of Account hierarchies using DRM, understanding its integration with downstream applications like HFM, Essbase, and Cognos. Experience with integration tools such as ODI/FDMEE, scripting, and PL/SQL is also essential. Preferred qualifications include experience with HFM and Essbase, as well as familiarity with AWS services like AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, API Gateway, Cloud Watch, and Quick Sight. This position is based in Seattle, WA, and offers a competitive salary range based on geographic location and experience.
