About the position

Canvas is seeking an entry-level Hypersonic Aeropropulsion Test Engineer to support the TMAS 2 AEDC contract at Arnold AFB, TN. This role involves providing assistance and advisory services to the Department of Defense (DoD) in the area of hypersonic air-breathing propulsion systems. The engineer will lead test planning, execution, and data analysis, while developing methodologies to assess performance in hypersonic environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead test planning, execution, and data analysis for hypersonic air-breathing propulsion systems and related subsystems.
• Develop and implement test methodologies to assess aeropropulsion performance and system integration in hypersonic environments.
• Coordinate with program offices, contractors, and stakeholders to define test requirements and objectives.
• Conduct thermal and fluid-structure interaction analyses and apply advanced computational tools.
• Perform in-depth post-test data analysis, compiling technical reports and presenting findings to leadership and customers.
• Stay current with state-of-the-art hypersonic testing techniques and apply them to support mission success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Undergraduate experience in hypersonic systems development and testing, with a focus on propulsion and/or aerodynamics.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and/or similar simulation tools.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
