About the position

The iCare Senior Application Analyst will serve as a leader providing expert and innovative solutions to end user requirements. Responsible for the design, build, testing, validation and implementation of Epic applications. Utilizes a broad knowledge of multiple iCare Applications, data/workflow, and clinical/business processes to ensure the successful integration between practice and the relevant Epic application. The Sr. Analyst guides and coordinates analysts across multiple applications throughout the project life cycle (design, implementation, long-term support). Researches, resolves, and responds to inquiries during the deployment and ongoing support phases of the project. The Sr. Analyst works closely with (and may direct) other Epic Application Analysts, Project Managers, Epic Team members and Trainers to translate clinical and business needs into EMR functionality in a manner consistent with project timelines and budgets. Leads in-depth analysis of end user department workflows, data collection, and report details as related to the respective Epic application during the implementation and ongoing support phases. The Senior Analyst must be able to provide 24/7 on call support on a rotating basis for application issue resolution. This role requires comprehensive technical and clinical/operational expertise in the design, programming, testing, and implementation of relevant applications while actively seeking alternative solutions and displaying initiative to meet end user needs and stakeholder needs. The analyst will validate and determine if the problem, need or issue is application, training or technical related, and will assume responsibility for issue resolution with leader awareness. Clear and precise communication with team members is essential, as is collaboration with Project Managers and IS leadership to create and maintain work plans, issues lists, decision lists, risks and status reports. The Senior Analyst will also lead Integrated Workgroups and participate in formal stakeholder meetings, vendor workgroups, and maintain regular communication with Epic representatives. Quality assurance, application and integrated testing on all builds is a critical responsibility, along with documenting testing results and ensuring test scripts match end user workflows. The analyst will also support training development, optimize the design of Epic to meet end-user needs, and conduct re-evaluation of implemented solutions and workflows. Maintaining Epic Certification/New Version Training (NVT) and completing system maintenance items as required are also part of the role. The Senior Analyst will complete root cause analysis on IT errors and provide technology solutions, training opportunities, or prevention tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead one or more Integrated Workgroups and serve as an active member of 1-2 Integrated Workgroups.
  • Proactively communicate and keep end users informed of ticket status and resolve within given ServiceNow parameters.
  • Perform quality assurance, application and integrated testing on all builds.
  • Document testing results and ensure test scripts match end user workflows.
  • Participate in and support training development, provide updates needed on existing material.
  • Optimize the design of Epic to meet the needs of end-users.
  • Conduct re-evaluation of implemented solutions and workflows.
  • Complete root cause analysis on IT errors and provide technology solutions, training opportunities, or prevention tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Clinical Information Systems, Informatics, Information Technology, Sciences or Clinical Role, or Technical License or High School Diploma with 8 years of progressive health care experience.
  • 3 years of hands-on Epic systems build experience with appropriate Epic training / certifications in at least one application area.
  • 5 years of progressive healthcare experience, preferably in an Integrated Network in clinical care or operations.
  • Led 1 or more integrated workgroups and active member of 1-2 Integrated Workgroups.
