About the position

The I&E Drafter at Optimized Process Designs will play a crucial role in the development of Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) design deliverables for various EPC projects. This position involves working under the guidance of Senior Designers to create detailed drafting outputs from initial concepts to final delivery, ensuring adherence to safety and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a 'safety first' culture.
  • Adhere to company drafting standards, client specifications, and industry standards.
  • Attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
  • Develop typical I&E design deliverables such as one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnects, panel schedules, cable schedules, block diagrams, hazardous area classification drawings, and plan drawings with guidance from I&E Designers.
  • Work independently and/or within a team of designers on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Maintain consistency and work with department processes, tools, and standards.
  • Communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other consultants.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in a technical field of study.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code).
  • Working knowledge of 3D software such as CADWorx.
  • Practical field/construction experience.
  • Technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Previous experience with Bluebeam software.
