About the position

The I&E Specialist IV position at our Waco, Texas facility is a critical role within the Prepared Foods division, focusing on the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems throughout the plant. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure the reliability and efficiency of electrical equipment, which is essential for maintaining production operations. The specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting electrical systems, assisting in the maintenance of electrical equipment through preventive maintenance (PM) procedures, and helping to implement new control systems. In this role, the I&E Specialist IV will also be tasked with researching and developing improved controls and electrical processes. This includes tracking and monitoring recurring problems, providing solutions to correct these issues, and identifying weaknesses in equipment related to electrical systems. A key aspect of the job is to understand the technical functionality of electrical equipment and to train operators and maintenance technicians on the operations and troubleshooting of this equipment. The specialist will assist maintenance personnel in maintaining an efficient production operation and will take the initiative to develop standards for electrical systems. Reporting on failure analysis, conducting oil sampling and reporting for 480V secondary transformers, and managing network communications with PLCs and VFDs are also part of the responsibilities. Additionally, the role involves sizing and designing control valves and advanced instrumentation, as well as performing other related duties as assigned to support production demands specified by customers or clients.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Industrial electrical experience
  • Extensive schematic reading capability
  • PLC coding/troubleshooting
  • Configuration of systems
  • Network development
  • Electrical certifications from technical college and/or manufacturing certifications (e.g., Allen Bradley, Square D)
  • 3-5 years documented experience preferred
