About the position
The I&E Technician position at Air Products involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and electrical equipment at various Mid River plants. The role requires a strong focus on safety and teamwork, with responsibilities including leading maintenance activities, assisting in developing inspection scopes, and ensuring compliance with safety tasks. The technician will work a 4x10 schedule and be on call once every four weeks.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and electrical equipment.
- Lead electrical power distribution systems maintenance activities.
- Assist other maintenance personnel in developing inspection/repair scopes.
- Write and update procedures as needed.
- Conduct routine, emergency, and major maintenance tasks.
- Read and comprehend circuits, prints, P&IDs, and schematics.
- Calibrate manufacturing instrumentation according to procedures.
- Complete instrument tracking documentation.
- Support facility operations by completing assigned work orders.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Technical degree and/or completion of an apprenticeship program, trade school diploma or certificate is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience working on instrumentation & electrical equipment, or 3 years with a technical degree.
- Strong mechanical skills and proficiency in communication and computer skills.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and climb ladders.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality workmanship and flexibility in job assignments.
Nice-to-haves
- Analyzer experience is a plus.
- SAP knowledge is highly desired but not required.
- Applicable military training will be considered equivalent to industrial experience.
