About the position

The I&E Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, aligning, calibrating, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment and instrumentation. This role also involves assisting local and regional personnel in developing safety procedures and policies for specific systems and facilities. The position is primarily based in Guernsey, WY, with responsibilities extending to the Douglas and Wheatland areas.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain and calibrate equipment such as pumps, motors, control valves, meters, and SCADA equipment.
  • Maintain and repair electrical equipment including valve actuators, switch gear, motor control centers, and safety systems.
  • Maintain records as required by the Department of Transportation for designated equipment and devices.
  • Assist in training of other technicians in all aspects of maintenance.
  • Support regional projects and work with other station personnel as needed.
  • Assist with corporate engineered projects including preoperational testing and commissioning.
  • Work with vendors and their technicians on new and repaired or upgraded equipment.
  • Inspect and document contract work on company assets as needed.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on various terminal and mainline equipment.
  • Maintain a lubrication schedule on various terminal and mainline equipment.
  • Act as a floating technician to assist various locations as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of National Electric Codes.
  • Proficient with electronic test instruments.
  • Good communication skills and self-motivation.
  • Experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of pipeline systems and equipment.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and required safety precautions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Journeyman electrician certification.
  • Two-year Associate Degree in job-related technical training or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years' experience in operating and maintaining oil & gas equipment.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley programming software.
  • Experience with petroleum storage and dispensing operations.
  • Pipeline hydraulics experience.
