Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain complex electrical systems.
  • Calibrate and control instrumentation systems.
  • Adhere to electrical safety standards and protocols.
  • Test and repair electrical circuits up to 600 volts AC.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and electronic instrumentation loops.
  • Repair, install, and troubleshoot electronic and pneumatic instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Work from electrical drawings and diagrams.
  • Install new equipment up to 600 volts and conduit up to 2" diameter in pipe racks.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Operate forklift and manlift.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs and distributed control systems.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly safety meetings.
  • Ensure proper PPE and tools are used, and all necessary lock out and tag outs are completed before starting a job.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or behaviors to the supervisor.
  • Perform CEM inspections and calibrations as required and document results.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area after job completion.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and 5 years of instrumentation and electrical experience OR a one-year certificate from college or technical school and three plus years of experience.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC).
